Freelon, Adjaye, Davis Brody Bond and Smith Group selected to design the NMAAHC

The Freelon Adjaye Bond/Smithgroup

The team consisting of The Freelon Group, Adjaye Associates, Davis Brody Bond and SmithGroup has been selected by The Smithsonian to design the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The building location is on the National Mall in Washington DC between the National Museum of Natural History and the Washington Monument. The other five finalist submissions are shown here.
The national Museum of African American History and Culture a new Smithsonian Institution led by museum director Lonnie Bunch, is expected to open on the National Mall by 2015. The museum is expected to cost $500 million .
