The beginning of a new year inspires us to be thankful that we are receiving another year of life as a gift given to all, and with great confidence and care, we sincerely wish that the year of 2012 will be defined by the inspirations of love, compassion, and peace.
The 2011 brought frustration to many families and many human hearts which continually raise a sense of disappointment at the economic, political, and social crises. It is frightening for humanity worldwide. The last year encourages us to seek the truth, to defend our freedom and values of life, to have compassion towards those who suffer, and to search for new ideas and a new sustainable life.
We hope the New Year will bring awareness and compassion to the leaders of human societies in their concerns of primary duties towards ordinary people, for the sake of certainty, justice, and peace.
All ideologies and political and economic systems serve merely as temporary guarantors of material prosperities with promises of illusive freedom that only bring discouragement in the face of complexities; however, a conscious return of human beings to their living, spiritual roots and to a higher sense of life will have the capability to transform humanity and the world. The guarantor of what is genuine and true is unconditional, everlasting love and compassion towards the human being and living world.
The world of media and journalism can offer its own significant contribution to research, education and inspiring stories that will bring courage, wisdom, and great influences to the world. The responsibility of media is to bring the awareness and thirst for truth to the point where the fundamental question of life will be asked by every ordinary man: “what is the truth? What does man desire more deeply than truth? Who is man and what is man’s life about?” The thirst for the infinite and the thirst for truth is the way to enlightment for our society, which is capable of explaining the question of life’s meaning. Authentic freedom and true creativeness can never be attained independent of truth.
Let us make a commitment to choose the way that demands devotion, constancy, and dedication with great enthusiasm to work hard. Let us be confident in our lives and constantly maintain our profound desires for truth, happiness, creativeness, and genuine love!
Whoever you are – architect or journalist, designer or scientist, engineer or environmentalist – please be aware of your potential and realize that you can be an example and an inspiration to many people, even more so to the extent that you seek and strive to create a more humane and fraternal society.
